artist talk: Sidsel Meineche Hansen

Sidsel Meineche Hansen using the technique of woodcut prints, sculptures, CGI, VR animations and augmented reality app, evolves important topics of today and near future in her work such are posthuman sex, bodies in the pharmaceutical, porn and tech-industries or political correlation between virtual and physical space. Her work also manifests as publications, and as an ongoing series of seminars. She studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Städelschule in Frankfurt a. M. and Goldsmiths in London. In 2009 she founded the research collective Model Court together with Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Lorenzo Pezzani and Oliver Rees, and in 2015 she co-edited Politics of Study (London and Odense: Open Editions and Funen Art Academy). She is a London-based artist who currently works as an associate professor at the Funen Art Academy, Denmark and has taught at CalArts, Los Angeles and Goldsmiths, University of London.
